To pass by the time

I am not working while we are here in Mississippi. At first I thought I would love a year off but it gets really boring, fast. There aren't great job openings here to begin with and people don't want to hire you and train you just to know that you will be leaving soon. So to make the time pass by I have been trying new crafty things. Below are a few of my experiments.
I got a wood burner in my high school craft class. I thought I might as well use it since I bought it. I have been drawing flowers like this since Jr. High, not sure why, but I thought it was fun. I still want to stain the wood but not sure what stain to use yet.
I always see these in peoples homes. I think it is a fun way to display your last name and the year you were married. I made my own because I didn't want to pay for one! Also, that isn't vinyl lettering. I traced the letters and design on there and painted them. That is why if you get too close you can see where I screwed up but if it is on the wall it looks great!

This was supposed to be a color by number. My friend did one of a dog and it was really cute. I thought I would try it out. Well, it was only the outline of the flowers, that was it. I had to pretend I knew how to shade and color flowers. At least they had a picture for me to look at. It was still fun.
There is a place called Dandy Doodlez in Starkville, it is about 30 minutes away. They have pottery and ceramic pieces that you can paint. It is a lot of fun. My platter didn't turn out quite as I wanted but I still like it. Plus it kept me entertained for a few hours!

I am still making jewelry as well so I am actually being productive while I am here. Our Relief Society is also starting a 6-week class on sewing for beginners. My goal is to make three crafty things each month. So if any of you have any ideas for a fun new craft project let me know!
