Mustache March and Magnolia Speedway!

I can't believe it is almost April. March has gone by pretty fast and that is a good thing! While David usually looks like this . . . .

. . he has looked like this for the past month! He is still my sexy hubby but I am not a huge fan of the mustache. When people in the military are deployed or in a training setting they usually participate in Mustache March. The first few weeks of March were hillarious. It looked like base was full of creepy pedophiles (is that spelled right?). Some wives and others really hate Mustache March. I think it is pretty funny and it is only for a month. If it was for all of training I would go crazy. I am happy that it will be shaved off in a few days!

A few nights ago we went with some guys in David's class to Magnolia Speedway, the South's Premiere Dirt Track. It was a lot of fun, loud but fun. Here are the guys that came, and yes I am the only wife that went. It usually ends up that way.

Don't they all look great with their mustache? This is Chayce, he said he had to fit the part if he was going to the races in the south. He pulled off the look of the mullet well. This was one of the cars that they were racing. They looked so weird. It was during this race that one of the cars crashed and flipped over. We only saw two wrecks the whole night which was surprising because it is a small track and they were so close together.

They were racing on a dirt track and I called my dad to tell him where we were going. He told me that it would be fun to watch because when they turn the corners they kind of glide sideways. In my head I immediatley thought of the movie cars and I said "Oh like on Cars when McQueen races Doc?" My dad just said "Wow Julie, yeah, just like that." See, movies teach you everything! It was a lot of fun and we took a short video of them gliding around the corner. Enjoy!
