We only got to Cheyenne the first day and we stayed on base. This was our hotel. It was so fun. It was beautiful there. There was wildlife in the fields in the morning and green everywhere you looked. I wouldn't mind living there.
So we stayed the night in Wyoming, Missouri, just inside Mississippi and then we finally got to Columbus, Mississippi. This is one of the bridges over the the Ten-Tom Waterway. There is a rope swing that you can play on and play in the water. There was a big group of boys playing on it when we were there. It looks like a lot of fun but the water looks scary.
We got here safe and sound, nothing broke and within the first hour of arriving we got a brand new house! They are remodeling the housing that students usually stay in and so they had to open the permanent housing to students. We were very happy. We got the keys around 11:30 am and the U-Haul was empty by about 3:00pm.
Things have been really good so far. It is different living on base but I like it. The gym is free, the fitness classes are free and everything you need is right here. At 7:00am they play Reveley, 5:00pm they play the National Anthem, and at 9:00pm they play Taps. I had my first experience with the National Anthem yesterday. If you are outside or driving on base at 5:00pm, you stop what you are doing and pause for the National Anthem. We were going into the grocery store and David pulled me off the asphalt onto the sidewalk and said "Face the music and put your hand on your heart!" The song was almost over and a T-6 flew right over our heads. It was awesome. You can see and hear airplanes flying everyday and one week a month there are night flights. David starts his classes tomorrow and so we will get pictures and video of the planes soon.
Love you all!
