Road Trip with my Mom

It was finally time for me to move to Oklahoma to be with David. It is about an 18 hour drive and I didn't want to make it by myself. My mom is awesome and she agreed to drive with me. My mom and I are really close so I was excited to spend time with her since we have been gone for a little over a year. We started off on our journey and made a little detour to go to Four Corners. Both of us were raised in Utah but have never been there. It was only 20 minutes out of our way so we had to go.
My mom and I are both standing in two states. I was in Colorado and New Mexico and she was in Utah and Arizona. This was the only picture of both of us that we had a guy take. He didn't let us know when.
We made it to Albaquerque, New Mexico the first night. The last hour of driving was very stressful for me, I think for my mom too. It was dark and we were on a winding highway. You should know that we are both those fun passenger drivers who think that we have that imaginary brake on our side and grab the side of the door if we think the driver isn't paying attention. So the 2 only other cars on the road ahead of us stopped pretty fast when a deer jumped out in front of them. That freaked me out and I was on the lookout the rest of the time and quite paranoid. Luckily no more deer appeared. We finally got to civilization and found a hotel. We were both very grateful for the pool and hot tub that night! The next morning, people were getting ready for a balloon festival that was going to happen the next day. As we drove off my mom was able to get some pictures of some of the balloons. They said the day of the event there are thousands that go up. It would have been fun to see.
For the rest of our drive we saw a lot of fields, cattle, and cotton.
We arrived at the Altus Air Force Base and David had set it up so that my mom and I could try one of the KC-135 simulators. These things were huge and so much fun. They move back and forth and up and down. We were in there for about an hour and when we got out I felt like I was getting off a real flight. My mom and I got to fly to Hawaii and Guam. Then David got in to show us how it is done. It was so much fun and we were grateful to the instructor that let us do it!

The next morning we drove in to Oklahoma City. We went to the memorial site of the bombings at the Oklahoma City Federal Bldg. It was interesting to walk through.

Each chair in the picture represents someone that was killed in the building. There are nine rows of chairs to resemble the nine floors. There were chairs in the front that were smaller to represent the children that were killed. It was sad to see.
Then we headed off to Bricktown. It is shops and restaraunts along a canal. We ate at Toby Keiths restaraunt and had to take pictures for my dad.

We then dropped my mom off at the airport so she could head back home. I had so much fun hanging out with my mom for the weekend. Thanks for all the fun, love you!!
